WARNING SIRENS

When a tornado is spotted by Mackinaw E.S.D.A. and the Mackinaw area is in its path, the E.S.D.A. will sound the siren for on steady blast.

This will be done each time a tornado is spotted.  The steady blast means

“take cover immediately” and “tornado is approaching.”

Both the Village and Heritage Lake sirens are on the same system.  E.S.D.A. will  not  sound an “all clear” siren.  Please listen to your local radio station, National Weather Service, or T.V. station for “all clear” details.

It is advised to have a battery-powered radio, National Weather Service radio, or T.V. to listen to details when the electricity is off.

On the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m., you will also hear an up and down siren.  This is an “air attack” or “war” siren.  The “tornado” and “air attack” siren will be tested on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00a.m., unless severe weather is in the area.
