WATER TREATMENT The project also replaced the Village's existing shallow wells with two new, high capacity wells drawing from the Mohomet-Sankoty aquifer. The Village of Mackinaw previously maintained two elevated storage tanks of 75,000 and 50,000-gallon capacity. The project involved the construction of a new 500,000-gallon elevated tank to replace them. The $3.4 million project, completed in the spring of 2004, resulted in an upgraded, integrated, state-of-the-art water system for the Village of Mackinaw and it's water service customers.
