                REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

 

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS HELD AT THE MACKINAW MUNICIPAL BUILDING AT 7:30 P.M.  

 

Chairman, Jerry Sweckard called the meeting of the Zoning Board of

Appeals to order at 7:30 p.m.  It was a regularly scheduled meeting.

 

I.          ROLL CALL: Present: Chairman – Jerry Sweckard Board Members – Steve

Powell Sr., Chuck Lowery, Ted Laidig and Wes Nunley

 

Absent:  Jesse Watkins and Todd Smith

 

Also Present: Recording Secretary Lisa Spencer, Zoning Officer Dallas Davis, Cheri Gilbert and John Jackson

 

II.       APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Regular Meeting – January 12, 2010

 

Laidig moved, seconded by Nunley to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of January 12, 2010 as submitted. Motion carried. 

 

III.             VARIANCE HEARING:  A hearing was held regarding the variance application received by Cheri Gilbert and John Jackson of 106 Tazewell St to exceed the size limitation of an accessory structure as stated in Section 153.052 of the Village Code.  The owners stated that they would like build a 30’x 36’ accessory structure for the storage of two cars and a wood working area on the south west corner of their property.  The neighbors have been informed of this application and have made no complaints. The land behind this property is zoned agriculture and is owned by the applicant. 

 

Nunley moved, seconded by Laidig to recommend to the Village Board to approve the variance request to build a 30’ x 36’accessory structure at 106 Tazewell St as submitted by Cheri Gilbert and John Jackson.  On a roll call vote, the vote was:

 

      AYES:  5 - Chairman Sweckard, Trustees Laidig, Nunley, Lowery and Powell

      NAYS: 0

      ABSENT: 2 - Trustees Watkins and Smith

      There being five affirmative votes, the Motion carried.

 

IV.       ZONING OFFICER’S REPORT:   Dallas Davis reported to the Board on the year to date building permits for 2010.

 

Laidig moved, seconded by Nunley to accept the Zoning Officers report as submitted.  Motion carried.

 

             V.       ADJOURNMENT @ 7:45 P.M.

 

There being no further business to come before the Board, Nunley moved seconded by Laidig to adjourn.  Motion carried.
